Your Reputation Is All You Have Online - Don’t Blow it!

When all is said and done, most people create an online
business for one purpose -to make money. Some want to make
a few extra bucks, others want to make a full-time income.

But regardless of everyone’s individual goals, I thinkg
you will agree that we all want to make additional income
from our online businesses.

In order to do this you need to sell. Whether it’s a
product, a services or just to get someone to take a
desired action - it’s all about being able to sell whatever
it is your promoting.

So needless to say that it is very important to use
powerful selling words to really convey each and every
little benefit of your product to convince your visitors to
take action.

And it is not uncommon to see popular trigger words like
“unbelievable” and “sensationall” or other similar words in
most great salesletters.

There is a fine line in using hype on your sales pages and
if used responsibly it can indeed be a poweful tool that
can explode your conversion rates and skyrocket your
profits. Notice the hype I used then :-)

However there are a number of marketers who cross this
line and purposely use hype to mislead their readers. For
example:

Not so long ago a fellow collegue of mine contacted me and
asked me to check out his new website where he was
promoting a new ebook he had just created on earning an
income from selling red widgets. (I’m protecting the
interests of my collegue so this is not what the report was
really about)

When I visited his site the first thing that interested me
was his sales copy The salesletter was very good in that it
targeted my emotions and promised that “everything I have
ever wanted” could be obtained just by purchasing the ebook
and implementing what I learned.

The salesletter also gave the impression that the author
owned a garage full of sports cars, luxurious mansions and
he spent most of their time on tropical holidays by the sea.

The problem was that I knew this collegue personally. He
is actually a electronics salesman struggling to make ends
meet and is looking to make quick buck by flogging off a
report he complied using public domain information.

Naturally the alarm bells immediately started to go off
and needless to say that in my view his reputation has
taken a severe noise dive and I now have little trust in
him. And I’m sure others have also now got the same view.

But I can only guess how many naïve visitors may have been
fooled into thinking this person was an authority on this
subject and were sucked in to parting with the money.

The sad fact is that this is not an isolated case. There
are hundreds of online marketers with low ethical standards
who are waiting to take your hard-earned money by using
hype to embellish the truth.

So the moral of this story is that if you’re selling
anything online line, your reputation and the trust of your
potential customers is EVERYTHNING. Your reputation is all
you have and if it is tarnish for whatever reason, it is
quite possible that your online business will never recover.

Whilst it is ok to use a small amount of hype to encourage
your readers to check out what it is you are promoting, you
should never mislead your visitors into thinking you are
not who you say you are, or that your earning capacity is
not what it really is.

Your reputation is all you have online - so don’t blow it!

Overdelivering Your Way to Greater Success!

As an online marketer your customers do not know you. They
cannot see your face. They cannot hear your voice when you
are recommending your products, and they cannot see or feel
your emotions when you are telling them about the benefits
of your products.

The internet is now a world game and it offers a level
playing field for anyone out there who has a computer. This
connectivity means that you have the potential to reach
every individual in the world. You are no longer limited by
normal geographical constraints. Bascially anyone can be
your virtual customer !

The only problem with this new age of connectivity is that
your competitors have the very same opportunities as you
do. No longer are you only competing with your neighbours,
you’re also in competition with every marketer in your
niche around the world.

So it is extremely important that your customers have a
satisfying experience everytime they contact you or make a
purchase from you. You need to offer a high level of
service and satisfaction in order to keep them coming back
as repeat customers. A very successful method of doing this
is to overdeliver on your promises.

When every competitor of yours has access to everyone in
the market, your only way of winning the battle is to
overdeliver - again and again and again!

When you overdeliver you gain your customers trust and
position yourself as a person with their interest at heart.
In other words, you become a trusted friend and not a greed-
driven marketer looking for a quick buck.

In a nutsheel, overdelivering is a simple but very
effective method of differentiating yourself from your
competitors!

So in what ways can you overdeliver to your customers?

You can start overdelivering by providing simply things
that won’t cost you a single penny, like fast and curtious
support where you answer any queries or concerns in as fast
and friendly manner as you possible can.

This may not sound much, but ask yourself…

How many times have you been turned away with
unsatisfactory answers when asking about a certain product
you purchased?

How many times have you received fantastic response to
your queries before you purchased an item, yet you had to
wait days or weeks to get a reply once you actually made
the purchase?

Compare that with the number of times you have been
provided good service, as if you’re being helped by a
personal friend - even after you bought the product.

The ratio of good experience compared to poor experiences
are just way out there proving how scarce good customer
support really is.

By providing excellent support to your customers and
providing quality responses to their queries you will gain
customers that are fiercely loyal to you because they know
you have their best interest at heart.

There’s no question that when you provide excellent
customer support you’re already ahead of most of your
competitors. But let’s take it a step further and think
what other ways can you overdeliver.

Anopther excellent and cost effective method is to provide
your customers an unadvertised bonus when they make a
purchase from you. People just love to receive more than
they paid for - so use this to your advantge!

For example, if someone buys a fishing reel you could
throw in a bonus fishing lure. But the secret to this
technique is not to mention the bonus as an incentive for
your visitors to purchase your product on your sales page.

You can offer other bonuses on your sales page if you
like, but you should never mention the bonus you’re going
to use as the surprise element. This way when they receive
your extra bonus it will be a total surprise and it will
have the potential to build great trust with your customers.

Another method is to build a long-lasting relationship
with your customers.

If a customer buys regularly from you, it’s a good idea to
send greeting cards on their birthday or on special
holidays or events. Your customer will again remember you
as a friend, and not as a business associate. And due to
the warm relationship you have built with them they will
remember you above your competitors when they are again in
the buying mood.

So, start developing your strategy to begin overdelivering
to your customers today to acheive greater success!

How to Keep Your Visitors Coming Back for More!

In today’s online envirionement where content is king you
have to continually provide fresh unique website content
that is relevant to your topic in order to achieve any
reasonable search engine ranking. This is where blogging
can form an inportant strategy in your overall maketing.

Including a blog as part of your site structure has proven
to be a very successfull strategy as it allows you to
provide fresh unique content on a regular basis to act as
seach engine fodder for the spiders. Plus it gives your
visitors a reason to keep coming back to your site to see
what new content about their niche subject has been added.

However, you need to ensure that the information your
provide is both informative and useful to your readers,
otherwise it defeats the whole purpose of the exercise.

So with this in mind, today we’re going to discuss the
type of content that is most suitable for your blog in
order to make it profitable and to keep your visitors
coming back for more - day after day after day!

First off, you need to understand that there is no fixed
framework that your blog should follow. This is a personal
choice and therefore you can write about whatever it is
you’re interested in.

However, the difference between a successful blog and a
blog that bombs out big time is the style in which your
content is written. For instance, would you prefer to read
a precise on quatum physics or the latest fishing magazine?

More than likely you would prefer to read the fishing
magazine because it appeals to your interest or because it
is far less mind-numbing than a boring lecture on quantum
physics. (I’m sorry if you’re a science geek, but most
people fall asleep reading this kind of stuff )

The point I’m trying to make is that most people don’t
like to read anything that is too “heavy”, so you need to
write in a style that is “light” yet informative.

ou see, when your visitors reach your blog they are not
only looking for information - they are also looking for
information they can obtain easily and in a relaxed manner.

So to attract more visitors, as well as to keep your site
sticky to entice your visitors to keep coming back for
more, it is very important to add a human touch to your
blog posts.

This can be done by simply imagining you’re talking about
a certain topic one-on-one with your personal friend and to
include a light-hearted sense of humour in your writings.
So don’t be afraid to add funny comments in your articles
where they are appropriate :-)

Another important key point is to avoid addressing your
reader in the third party, ie you should not write as if
you’re preparing a speech to a crowded room.

You need to write as if you’re having a face-to-face
conversation with a friend. This will make your visitor
feel as if they are actually part of the conversation,
rather than reading a robotic comment from a person who is
trying to sell them something.

Besides that, it is also very useful to establish your own
personality through your comments. Human beings are very
curious creatures, so naturally your visitors would want to
know as much about you as the information you’re offering
them.

Just being yourself, rather than trying to be too
official, can make a huge difference as it can make you
stand out from your competitors. This is a lot like
creating your own brand name, where people immediately
think about you when they need to find out information
about their topic - just like how people immediately think
about Coke when they are thirsty or Nike for sportswear.

So in summary, only ever provide unique fresh contant on
your blog, stucture your comments in a casual manner as if
you were talking to a friend and write in a face-to-face
style to establish your own personality on your blog.

Doing this will not only get the spiders interested in
your blog, it will also entice your visitors to keep coming
back to your site to read the latest news or information on
your chosen topic.
